EV charging cables (three-phase)

Three-phase cables allow faster charging from three-phase charging points on vehicles capable of charging at 11kW or higher. The cables can also be used on single-phase "7kW" charging points in which case 32 Amp rated cables are recommended for optimal charging performance.

Some Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) can charge at up to 7.4kW on single phase charging points (32 Amp) or can use 2 phases of a three-phase charging point at 16 Amps each.  This can be desirable on groups of charging points.
